Buying Vegan Groceries on A Budget

Great info here!

Home Improvement Resource

groceries in philadelphiaHi!!  Heather from So I’ve been talking a lot lately about groceries and how to maintain a healthy diet and a healthy grocery list and keep it on a budget and all that good stuff. And today well talk about things that are important to leave off your list because that is just as important as what you actually buy. When I first met Phil, he would always buy these baby carrots they come with little bags, they’re pretty expensive. When I showed him how much cheaper the regular carrots where he was pretty impressed. I think that might have helped my chances.

Anyway, and now he sees them as much of a rebuff as I do. So something’s that I used to buy and don’t anymore, mainly condiments, sauces, things in jars, things in cans because they often have things added to them. Salad dressings that come in…

About the Owners

Ally Maw

I live in beautiful Pensacola, FL with my husband, Nate, and our three beautiful children, Emily, Daniel, and Lucy (10, 9, and 4 years old). I have worked as a personal trainer for the last 12 years, and I have loved every minute of helping others reach their full potential in health and fitness. Some of my hobbies (past & present) include biking, running, marathons, triathlons, pilates, yoga, swimming, gardening, reading, writing, photography, traveling, and dancing.

My first priority & biggest passion is my family, and making sure that they are happy and healthy. Some fun things that we do as a family are having game night, dance party night, going to the library, playing at the park, going to the beach, playing in the pool, and walking/ hiking. My life is very full, and became even more so when I started Tree of Love Organics, LLC with my sister. Getting up and running has been a real learning experience, but we both have a real passion for creating a successful business!

“Going Green” is something that I have a desire to learn more about, and incorporate into my everyday life as well. Like most people, I try to buy mostly organic food, & recycle. A couple of years ago, I started growing fruits & vegetables in my backyard, and my kids love picking when they are ripe. But I know that going GREEN means a lot more! While working on my organic & eco-friendly business, I realize that there is so much more I can do for myself, my family, and the environment to be more eco-friendly! My new adventures that I hope to successfully accomplish include buying a compost bin & start making my own beautiful rich soil, using non-toxic products for weed killing, and juicing my own organic fruits & vegetables! Wish me luck on my adventures! I will share with you on our blog!

Pictures of my family below…. although during my search for pictures, I realized that we rarely ever have all 5 of us in our photos. My new mission is to change that! 🙂  I think it’s time for some more professional family pictures (the last ones taken were when Lucy was under a year old… that was 4 years ago).

Jenn Karasek: Bio coming soon…. she has been quite busy working a demanding full-time job, helping run our on-line biz, chasing around her “all boy” 2 year old, and also waddling around as she awaits the birth of her 2nd child, a little girl, in almost a months time!  Her bio will come when life settles down for her…. wait, that will be when the kids are in college!  🙂
